Is there one “multi-cloud certification”?
No. AWS, Google Cloud and Alibaba Cloud each run their own certification programmes. You become multi-cloud certified by earning certifications from more than one of them. That is why multi-cloud training covers several providers in one programme rather than preparing you for a single exam.
The multi-cloud certification path, step by step
- Get the basics in place. Sherdil’s AWS course outlines list Linux, basic networking (especially subnets and routing), and virtualization as the foundation. These carry across every cloud.
- Start with AWS. Sherdil’s multi-cloud programmes list the AWS 3-in-1 track first, which covers three associate-level certifications: Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, and Developer. Note that AWS renamed the SysOps Administrator certification to AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer, Associate in September 2025.
- Add Google Cloud. Once you understand AWS networking, compute, and storage, the Google Cloud equivalents are quicker to learn.
- Add Alibaba Cloud. The same concepts again, under Alibaba’s own service names.
- Extend to Azure and DevOps. Depending on the programme, Azure is taught live or provided as self-learning access.
